Sara – Front Royal

It was a beautiful fall day in The Shenandoah Valley when I shot Sara for her last shoot with Poetry of Motion of 2011. The light was beautiful, the  temperature was perfect and it was a wonderfully warm autumn day in the valley. There were a few technical difficulties with equipment at the beginning of our shoot but Sara was patient while I corrected the problems and I believe the images captured are some of the best from her shoots.

We hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoying sharing them with you and we hope you consider supporting this project to bring the beauty of dance to a wider audience by purchasing one of our limited edition prints at our website: www.bpaydenphotography.com/store

Sara – Old Town Fredericksburg

Followers of this blog and art project will no doubt recognize Sara as a frequent participant in this project, Sara has been an enthusiastic model as well as a source of encouragement and inspiration! For this latest shoot with Sara I envisioned a vintage look which was accomplished both in post production and choosing to shoot in old town Fredericksburg to utilize the warm inviting architecture as well as shooting at sunset to maximize the golden light at the end of the day. Sara is featured in one more shoot in the 2011 shooting season for this project, keep an eye out for her beautiful fall mountain images!

We hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoying sharing them with you and we hope you consider supporting this project to bring the beauty of dance to a wider audience by purchasing one of our limited edition prints at our website: www.bpaydenphotography.com/store

Angelina – Old Town Manassas

I was contacted in the summer of 2011 by my friend Lisa and asked if I had considered using any children in my Poetry of Motion project, and honestly I had not. Her daughter is a dancer and was interested in participating in the project, my studio has done work for Lisa and I knew her daughter and have shot her on several occasions so I thought she would make a wonderful addition to my project. I contacted Sara Gaydash and asked if she would help with the ballet posing as I am still learning names and proper technique from the dancers at The Manassas Ballet Theatre. We met in Old Town Manassas on an early summers morning to take advantage of the soft warm lighting early in the morning and with Sara’s help we gt some beautiful shots of Angelina. Lisa also took advantage of the opportunity to snap a couple of quick pics of me showing Angelina and Sara the ballet pose I wanted, and they are out there on the internet, but of course I’m not going to tell where you can find them! 🙂

This was a great shoot and I love the images of Angelina on the church steps, Thanks to Lisa for broadening my vision of this project to include children as well!

We hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoying sharing them with you and we hope you consider supporting this project to bring the beauty of dance to a wider audience by purchasing one of our limited edition prints at our website: www.bpaydenphotography.com/store

Sara – Manassas Battlefield

The second shoot for my Poetry of Motion project was again with Sara Gaydash of the Manassas Ballet Theatre. We shot at the Manassas National Battlefield Park and this time I concentrated on mainly black and white images. It was early spring, but unlike the cherry blossoms in Washington DC a few weeks before, the spring buds had not yet appeared at the Stone Bridge. The trees were still bare and the strak barren look of this part of the battlefield that day lent itself to black and white images.

Sara was as usual a great model and we captured some beautiful images for this project. We hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoying sharing them with you and we hope you consider supporting this project to bring the beauty of dance to a wider audience by purchasing one of our limited edition prints here.

Sara – Cherry Blossoms

The first shoot for my new Poetry of Motion project was with Sara Gaydash from The Manassas Ballet Theatre. We shot at West Potomac Park in Washington DC in early spring to capture the beauty of the cherry blossoms in bloom and the beauty that Sara brings to ballet. We had quite a few onlookers while we were shooting and I overheard many of those watching the shoot comment on how beautiful the dancer was and the beautiful setting. I knew I was on to something with this new project just from the public’s reaction to this shoot! We hope you enjoy these shoots and please considering supporting this project to bring the beauty of dance to a wider audience by purchasing one of our limited edition prints here.
